Feedback and analysis on the event of the year: BIM's DAY 2015

BIM's DAY 2015 the most anticipated BIM event of this year organized by MediaConstruct, the French-speaking chapter BuildingSmart, was exceptional, this annual rdv was hosted by the French Building Federation, many of the participants came from all over France, Europe and the whole world, hexaBIM was there too! A fairly dense day, almost an intervention every 15 minutes!

is characterized by the very large number of participants. - See more at: http://www.arobim.fr/joomla/92-events/132-bimday-2014#sthash.sh0zAlJC.dpuf

The special feature of this year was the morning devoted entirely to feedback from several foreign countries: the United Kingdom, Korea, Norway, the Netherlands and Germany. We have seen the UK BIM Marketplace, BIMtool Kit, COBie and BIM Tiers up close. For Korea the impressive KBIM validation process for data verification. In Norway Steen SUNESEEN showed us their tailor-made guides for each BIM user through a web platform, in addition to checking BIM models through mvdXML, not to mention our German neighbors with their goodwill through the Rijkswaterstaat program as well as the Planen Bauen 4.0 program. You can find out more details in the recap which was made by FinalCAD for the rest of the morning.

The morning was concluded with the intervention of Bertrand DELCAMBRE who summarized the various interventions and emphasized the priority orientations of the digital transition plan:

Followed by a good hour shared between tastings and interesting meetings:

And it's not over ! The 2nd part of the day was devoted to feedback on local experiences, always with the same pace, we were able to discover the different works carried out by the different MediaConstruct working groups presented by Sébastien TEISSIER, the advances of publishers in response to the movements of the various actors with Sylvain MARIE, and who showed us the example of the FFB 95 seat where they tested several solutions, whether in architectural modeling with ArchiCAD, structural with Tekla, various thermal studies with Visual TTH and ClimaWin, price studies with Attic + and BIMétré and asset management with Active3D and GESPRO, all via ifc!

For those who follow the various events that took place just before BIMs DAY, including EduBIM which ended the day before, we were treated to a recap for the two days of this event with the ESITC team:

The last part of the afternoon was very very interesting, we followed some encouraging feedback with the agencies and firms Brunet Saunier, Coste, AIA, Immobilière 3F and ITF. From the use of the digital model in the hospital sector at Brunet Saunier, the involvement in BIM and rigorous working methods at COSTE, the construction economy and the exchange of digital models at AIA, the passage is also fun that dynamic Bruno GEORGES showing his concrete vision of BIM with a lot of anecdotes, we concluded with the BIM operations launched in design-construction by Immobilière 3F, concrete!

Just before the closing with Mr. BIM, Bertrand Delcambre, Bernard FERRIES and Pascal LEMONNIER presented us with a tool or rather a method for evaluating the degree of integration of BIM in an operation, BIMétric! We will definitely talk more about this in another article!

And to conclude the event Bertrand Delcambre, the great witness of BIM's DAY 2015, returned to the involvement of all construction players, whatever their size, in this transformation process.

A big thank you to the MediaConstruct team, its executives, its active members who do a great job to advance BIM in France, not to mention Guersendre Nagy for his dynamism and responsiveness today.

We have put together a photo album for this event, do not hesitate to consult it:

It was indeed a very busy day!
We felt that the speakers were at the forefront and above all, and that was the most pleasant point, very voluntary, confident and optimistic!
If I had to keep only one point of this day would be the need to exchange and at all levels. Of course at the level of end users but as has been repeated several times at the much higher level of the services of each country ... Perhaps a little utopian but nevertheless in the right dynamic!
And M. Delcambre, as usual, always so strong-willed and lively.
A very beautiful day which was well worth the trip.

nb: shouldn't the presentations be sent at the end of the day?
