How to succeed in a Digital BIM DOE for Operation Maintenance Management with Mohamed DENNOUN

About

Understand the organization around a contractual DOE, a Digital DOE then a BIM DOE and how to prepare it for integration into a BIM Maintenance Operation Management environment.

In summary :

> STATE OF PLAY OF DOE (S)
> THE DIGITAL DOE IS NOT A BIM DOE
> DEFINITION OF AN MNOE
> TALK LOD OR FAR?
> STRUCTURING OF THE DOE BIM
> DOE BIM CONNECTIVITY
> THE TQC CONTROL OF THE DOE BIM
> DOE BIM FOR OPERATION MAINTENANCE

Guest: Mohamed DENNOUN, Project Manager, BIM & DATA Manager

Answers of Mohamed DENNOUN to Questions from Participants:

1.
Can you define what you call "FULL BIM"?
Full BIM is a shortcut to say that all actors produce and manipulate MN. That the elements of the project have an existing digital virtual twin that contains their information.
Ex of full bim project: for the MOE competition phase, we have already provided MN for the land and existing buildings emptied. The 9 companies involved in design exchanges only in MN. In DCE, we provide informed MNs ...

2.
Which GEM system did you choose?
We are developing our own based on several existing solutions on the market to adapt it to our needs.

3. The fact that the legislation has not defined the content of the DOE, isn't that one of the problems? Everyone puts what they want ...
This is also the goal, to adapt the needs for each project. The purpose of the legislation is more to organize the administrative procedures than to prescribe the technical content.

4. The central and overriding question is: What is the DOE for, or what do we really want it to be used for?
I invite you to review the start of the conference where everything is explained ?

5. Where can I find section 40 of DOE with the documents to contain?
It is article 40 of the CCAG works which speaks of the DOE.

6. I did not know the DMLT and the DUEM! Are these mandatory documents?
As I explained at the start of the intervention, the DMLT is a complement to the DIUO if the building contains workplaces. The DUEM is done by the maintainer based on the other DOEs.

7. Can you give us an example of a digital DOE application?
On the internet, just look for DOE Numérique or DOE BIM to find several companies that offer it.

8. The MOE offers the reception and the MOA receives, right?
No, the MOA notifies the reception.

9. If these are links that refer for each object to a "technical" PDF file, the weight of the model will not be heavier?
A URL address if we exaggerate, will weigh 1Kb. It will take more than 1024 URLs to get to 1MB. So no.

10. Where do we find it Draft for Public Comment

11. If I understand correctly, you are requesting an MNOE in addition to the digital DOE? And how do you relate the information between the two and the information non-redundancy between the two models?
This is well explained during the intervention. There is no redundancy.

12. Can you remind us what an AIM is?
Asset Information Model

13. Is your thesis accessible somewhere?
It is classified confidential by the company where I did my work-study program at the time.

14. What about the vectorization of the point cloud?
I do not understand your question

15. What about projects for which the native formats are different?
IFC is always requested to allow coordination and collaboration precisely.

16. What is the solution chosen for the on-site verification?
We use Dalux Field to monitor the site.

17. What is the augmented reality application used on site?
We use Dalux Field to monitor the site.

18. Who does the transformation? Many solutions ?
I do not understand your question sorry.

19. Is it relevant to attach all the DOE documents linked to the corresponding IFC objects, or even use free objects (like the geolocation pyramid) to attach generic documents?
Everything is possible. However, this logic must be described.
Note that several documents can be accessed otherwise.

20. In the GEM tools, is it the IM that is really used / visualized, or an adaptation of it containing only the information necessary for the GEM tool?
It all depends on your use of IM and the workflow you set up.

21. What about the interaction of the terminals with the model?
That is to say ?

22. Could you, please, explain to us quickly how to proceed to the export of the model in IFC and classifications in order to exploit it on the GEM?
You just have to define an MVD to elaborate on the needs of EM managers. You have to ask them for an IDM and answer that one.

23. How to optimize the BIM GEM approach for better efficiency and time saving?
Very broad question to which we can write a book. It is case by case and not so simple, quite an expertise. However, the best answer I will give you; The ME must be taken into consideration before the start of the design phase.

24. How to use the GEM digital model for better energy efficiency?
It is necessary to have an MN well informed on the energy part and to have the energy management tools which communicates with this MN.

25. How do we manage the infra data which is not currently included in the standardized codification?
We use other classifications to supplement what is missing in the IFC. Like the Uniformat II 2015 classification for example.

26. What elements carry the coating information? Who captures them?
Each object can carry the information of its coating. Or even create an additional layer to present the coating. And naturally the person in charge of the coating must fill in this information.

27. How do you manage companies that are not able to model or enter information?
Take a subcontractor for these companies for example.

28. What codifications of the elements are the most suitable (Uniformat or others)?
It all depends on your need, we use Uniformat II 2015. Plus other various filters.

29. How do we manage the infra data which is not currently included in the standardized codifications?
We use other classifications to supplement what is missing in the IFC. Like the Uniformat II 2015 classification for example.

30. How will the GEM models be updated? With identical or different native formats?
Very good question. Upon receipt of MNOEs with different formats or in IFCs, we can transform and ingest these models into the modeling tool used by the maintainer and / or the MOE to convert them into native format. This is also interoperability.
