Julien, could you tell us about your background?

Julien de WISMES, 42 years old. I have an atypical background because I come from the automotive industry. I have a Bac Mechanical Engineering, License and Masters in production management. For 8 years, I was responsible for the plastic injection part for a second-tier automotive supplier, then at a certain point in my career, I wanted to give meaning to my life and to reorient myself in a more human sector. with values.

This is why I turned to the building industry and I joined the BERTONI company, a construction company (Subsidiary of the VALENTIN GROUP) as a works supervisor for several years. This allowed me to see the room for improvement in this sector of activity.

In 2017, I joined BIM Formation (Subsidiary of the VALENTIN Group) with the aim of developing BIM training while integrating the level of maturity of learners and putting the means so that they can achieve their goals, which undeniably helped me. oriented on project and tailor-made training.

This approach is a success because we have integrated large accounts and support VSEs and SMEs in the digital transition by integrating BIM.

In 2018, at the same time as BIM Formation, I completed my career as a business manager for BIMSKY SAS for the development of activities:

  • Scan
  • Modelization
  • BIM Management
  • AMO BIM

After carrying out several services on behalf of our clients, we have seen the importance of the I of BIM “Information, DATA”.

From there, the BIMSKY team has developed a service offer to support BEs in the digital and energy transition while relying on our training center to increase the skills of BEs.


How do you collaborate with the design offices? How are your interventions going?

The BEs call on BIMSKY because the employees all come from the building industry with several decades of experience in the following fields:

  • MEP
  • Structure
  • Construction economics

The BEs tell us about their mission and BIMSKY sets up various means so that our clients can achieve their objective.

Concretely, what is DATA and for what uses?

DATA is the "i" from the word BIM. The information / data that will be integrated into the digital model in order to:

  • To optimize the modifications
  • Digital DOE
  • BIM GEM

This DATA is the information relating to the equipment, the architectural envelope, pipes present in the technical rooms and boiler rooms for which in 90% of cases:

  • There is no paper DOE
  • Or the paper DOE does not match the TQC (As constructed)

How are these data managed and for what purpose?

The data is collected on site by our business experts. 

We integrate the data into the point cloud via markers which allows time to be saved during modeling and above all to avoid errors (DATA integrated into the wrong object).

Modeling by integrating the DATA recorded on site for each of the objects. The statement related to the client's objective.

Pre-synthesis EXE to check that the new equipment integrated by the BE to the MN is located in the right place with the right data.


What can you say about the role of BIM in the execution phase, what is its impact on rehabilitation sites?

The role of BIM in the EXE phase is to be able to anticipate / plan before intervening on the site and check that the TQC conforms to the MNBIM.

BIM in rehabilitation is very important because most of the time, there is no DOE. The impact of BIM on rehabilitation sites allows the realization of the IM of the existing building using means such as 3D scanning, to optimize the budget part of the project by integrating the complexity of the building upstream (reservations, etc.) . This allows the BE to integrate its various points in the design phase, to allow EXE companies to bring the MN BIM to the site and to use means such as the implantation station in order to limit errors, optimize the intervention time by prefabricating the elements off-site.
