Hello everyone !

I have a little problem with dynamo.
I have a model which is linked to an architect model. And on dynamo I would need to assign parameters to my equipment.
The problem being that when I use the Element.Solid node after selecting my equipment, Revit crashes!
(I put you a picture in PJ of dynamo even though it is not large for you to understand, when I read the two point elements, Revit stops and my model closes without any message).

Thank you very much in advance that would help me a lot!

Hello,

Can you indicate your version of Revit and dynamo please?
This allows us to better orient our response.
you can find your version of Dynamo by following the following path: Help> About ...

Raphael

Hello,
Use the Element.Geometry node and then you may need to "purge" the list to keep only the solids.
You may have 2D elements in your families (details)

1) shows a test with a selection on an object. -> works?

2) in case of error (test 1) edit your family, delete all except the elements drawn in the family editor (E. details, 3D dwg ...)
Save under another name and repeat step 1

I got an error message this time on revit without it crashing:

"Warning: Element.get_Solids operation failed.
Curve join produced more than one WIRE in PolyCurve "

Any ideas?

Hello Clement,

Were you able to do the test on a single object via this node?
As Alain said, purge your family as much as possible and restart the script. If that doesn't work, add some complexity as you go along until you identify what's bugging your family.
You can possibly share your family.

A polycurve = a set of curves (the autocad polyline if you prefer). The node failed to produce a closed polyline. It can be caused by different things, in my case I had it with geometry inaccuracies (very close lines / points).

Hello,

I just ran the test with only one item selected and here is a new error message:
"Warning: Element.get_Solids operation failed.
trim_with_edge_loops requires all curves to touch surface "

When you talk about adding complexity to identify the problem, what are you talking about doing?

Have you done :

2) in case of error (test 1) edit your family, delete all except the elements drawn in the family editor (E. details, 3D dwg ...)
Keeps only solid elements drawn in the family editor
Save under another name and repeat step 1

Where does the family come from?
Share your family (compressed in zip format)
