FARO launches PointSense for Revit, finished the hassle of processing point clouds?

FARO launches PointSense for Revit, finished the hassle of processing point clouds?

On March 31, FARO announced the launch of PointSense, a tool developed within the parent company for Revit®, more precisely by KUBIT software which was recently acquired by FARO, PointSense introduces advanced features that significantly improve the evaluation of point cloud data and its conversion into a digital model.

PointSense users will benefit from additional functionality over common Autodesk Revit® native tools on the market to date. New features include features for extracting and aligning architectural walls, creating Revit® family types such as doors, windows, beams, centerlines and terrain models, snap to real 3D point clouds, detection of planes and production of ortho-images to scale.

Here is the promotional video, it's just magic!

PointSense will be available to users on May 4, 2015. To learn more about PointSense for Revit®, visit:

Bravo Mohamed, this is the future of BIM for existing buildings. Currently being tested with us with the FARO 130 scanner, it has enabled us to survey a 300-seat Auditorium in 1 hour. The recently available tools allow simplified modeling based on the point cloud. Rumors have it that AutoCAD 2016 and Revit 2016 are expected to incorporate this technology even more.

Hello, I come back to this article which is a little dated but I wanted to know if you were satisfied with Pointsense? I wonder if it's worth it for modeling existing buildings from point clouds. Thank you.
